Last Wednesday I was invited by the Pike Place Market team to drop by and check out the new Evening Farmers Market. This is the first year that Pike Place Public Market has had an Evening Farmers Market, which they kicked off back in June. It’s perfect for locals who want to shop the Market but get off work too late to take advantage of all the goodies Pike Place has to offer.
Personally, I think it’s a fun way to spend a Wednesday evening outside, enjoying the extended sunny hours and sampling delicious food.
The first thing I noticed when I entered the Market was a fun track set-up to race zucchinis. I later found out that on the 2nd Wednesday of every month they have free family activities. While I don’t have children myself, I can see how this would be a fun way to break up the mid-week boredom of summer break.

The other component to the Pike Place Evening Farmers Market that I really enjoyed was the food vendors! There is a small but delicious mix of local eateries set up so that you can purchase cooked food to snack on. While I didn’t get to try everything here are some things that I did try:
Vespucci Pizza – $5 a slice/ $18 for a whole pie
Shen Zen Tea – I believe this large was either $4 or $5.

If you are near Downtown and in need of groceries or find yourself looking for something to do besides Happy Hour, I would highly recommend checking out Pike Place Evening Farmers Market. It runs from now until October 12th, 5pm – 8pm every Wednesday.
Cheers,
Sonya
